We are so excited for her chapter of leadership with her contagious positive energy and enthusiasm for the sport of fly fishing. Tight lines ��🎣

It is with gratitude and certainly a bit of emotion that we share that Tori Walburn, our energetic club President, has decided that it is time for her to step down. Since December 2022, Tori has served the club in selfless ways -- sharing her high stoke level for all things fly fishing, introducing countless women to the sport through wade fishing or on her own drift boat, and leading with passion and excellence. Tori, we are so thankful for your leadership over the years and for leaving the club better than you found it! We're very excited for Tori's fishy future to come with the club.

Yesterday we lost one of our own. Becca Sue Klein was legendary in our fly fishing community, and it is honestly difficult to put in to words what all she has meant to our club over the years. She had a passion for helping others feel the same joy, peace, and acceptance that she felt on the water.

While we are deeply grieved, we are also grateful for the incredible legacy that she leaves behind. Becca was passionate about so many avenues within the fly fishing and conservation communities. Our club members have seen her live that out first hand, and served alongside her over the years. At the core of who she was, Becca was passionate about cultivating community and that’s exactly the energy she brought to our club.

May we all remember Becca well in the days and years to come, and cherish our memories with her for a lifetime ❤️ Until the next bend, friend.

SAVE THE DATE 📅 Rodney Tumlin, Chairman of Georgia Council TU will be sharing about Georgia’s Bass Slam during the Monthly Meeting next Tuesday, May 14.

Growing up on a small farm in rural NW Georgia, Rodney is a life-long outdoorsman and loves to fish, hunt and camp. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served from 1976-1980. He is a retired high school science teacher. Rodney started a Trout in the Classroom program in his school which was the 2nd school in GA that offered the program. He started the 1st Trout Unlimited “5 Rivers Club” in Georgia and still works as a volunteer with that group. Rodney is married. He has 3 sons and 3 grandchildren.

The Mayfly Project supports children in foster care by teaching them fly fishing and providing equipment to get them started on their own. During the month of October TMP is conducting a fundraiser consisting of buying flies and receiving raffle tickets for every fly bought. The flies are associated with various prizes that you can choose - inflatable raft, stand up paddle board, guided fly fishing on the Soque, Abel reel, etc. Please review the information below and consider donating to help fund mentoring boys and girls in foster care. Stream report: For anyone wondering about water temps in the GA mountains, I took some temp readings while fishing yesterday. Noontootla Creek on the Blue Ridge WMA was 65 degrees at the hottest point of the day (around 4p). A higher elevation tributary was running 62 around 5:30p. If you want to fish for trout in GA, get out there soon somewhere above 2500ft., because temps are rising!
